Team Falcons PH Advances to Grand Finals of MPL Philippines Season 18
Team Falcons PH have secured their spot in the MPL Philippines Season 18 Grand Finals. Following a hard-fought 3:2 victory over Aurora Gaming PH in the upper bracket final, they have guaranteed themselves the first seed for the tournament's decisive match.
The road to the Grand Finals has been a dominant one for Team Falcons PH, who previously swept ONIC PH with a 3:0 score in the upper bracket semifinals. Aurora Gaming PH, however, had to fight through a more challenging path, having defeated Omega Esports 3:2 and overcoming Team Liquid PH 3:1 in the upper bracket semifinals to reach this stage.
With the 3:2 series loss, Aurora Gaming PH drops to the lower bracket, maintaining a chance to face Team Falcons PH again in the Grand Finals. Meanwhile, the lower bracket semifinals saw Team Liquid PH dominate ONIC PH with a 3:0 sweep, officially eliminating ONIC PH from the competition. Team Liquid PH will now face Aurora Gaming PH in the lower bracket final to determine the second participant for the Grand Finals.
Running from August 21 to October 30, MPL Philippines Season 18 features eight teams competing for two coveted slots at the M8 World Championship.
