Slay the Spire 2 Teases Major Beta Patch for November 12
Mega Crit is preparing a significant update for Slay the Spire 2. The next major beta patch is scheduled for November 12 and will introduce a new game mode supporting both single-player and multiplayer play.
While the specific rules, quantity, and exact type of this new mode have not yet been revealed, the developer confirmed the November 12 target date in their October newsletter.
According to Mega Crit, the studio has been focusing heavily on major content development since August. The developers noted that implementing new features requires extensive work on design, user experience, art, animation, and balancing, making it difficult to release large-scale updates alongside routine bug fixes and minor balance adjustments.
The rollout strategy remains consistent: the new experimental content will be available exclusively on the beta branch first. The main branch will only receive the content, balance tweaks, and bug fixes already implemented in the current beta version, v0.111.0. This August patch previously introduced card reworks, performance improvements, and new low-health idle animations for characters.
Players interested in testing these features early can switch to the public-beta branch via the game properties in Steam. Since its Early Access launch last March, Slay the Spire 2 has expanded to include co-op play for up to four players.
