Shifters defeat Team Heretics; Vitality edge Fnatic in LEC 2026 Summer openers
In the opening matches of the LEC 2026 Summer regular season, Shifters secured a decisive 2:0 victory over Team Heretics, while Team Vitality staged a comeback to defeat Fnatic 2:1.
Shifters claimed their first win of the split, sweeping Team Heretics with dominant performances on both maps. The home team took the initial map 12–6 in 28:23 and closed out the series with a 13–7 victory on the second map in 26:03. This result improved Shifters' record to 1–7, while Team Heretics suffered their sixth defeat of the season, dropping to 2–6.
Team Vitality faced a tougher challenge against Fnatic, losing the opening map 3–16 in 32:39. However, they responded with an 18–10 win on the second map and sealed the comeback with a decisive 17–1 victory on the final map in 26:19. The win moved Team Vitality's record to 6–2, keeping them level with G2 Esports at second place, while Fnatic fell to 3–5.
Shifters were led by Rooster, who recorded the best average K/D/A on his team with a score of 4.6/1.6/4.9. Meanwhile, Team Vitality's FIESTA stood out with an impressive 6.4/1.7/2.6 average K/D/A.
