Build and Switches

The visual design remains largely unchanged: a low-profile layout with an aluminum switch plate that doubles as the top chassis cover. Under the hood, however, significant changes have occurred. The unit now features linear Silent Switches from Huano, which incorporate rubber dampers to absorb impact noise.

The actuation distance is reduced to 3.1 mm, with a signal triggering at approximately half that travel. This shallow stroke is characteristic of low-profile mechanical keyboards and ensures fast response times without excessive noise.

Ergonomics and Features

The keys feature a cylindrical ABS design with laser-cut legends mounted on cross-shaped stems for easy replacement. The multimedia capabilities are enhanced by a physical volume dial located above the number pad, while status LEDs have been moved to the arrow keys.

Functionality is expanded via the Fn-layer, offering macro recording (up to 32 KB memory), office shortcuts (such as calculator access), media control, and RGB lighting customization across four profiles or individual colors.

Connectivity and Battery

The W100 supports dual connectivity: a wired USB-C connection via a 1.8 m modular cable or wireless operation using a 2.4 GHz dongle that stores inside the chassis when not in use. The manufacturer claims up to 160 hours of battery life from the built-in 2000 mAh cell, though this maximum is achieved without the power-hungry RGB backlighting.

Price and Availability

The new model is available for around €60. This positions it significantly below the smaller PureWriter W65, which uses different technology. Independent testing of gaming performance and daily usability is expected in upcoming reviews.
