RPG Maker U2U ‘P2D Map Editor Demo’ now available on Steam
Gotcha Gotcha Games has released the “P2D Map Editor Demo” for RPG Maker U2U on PC via Steam. The release is part of the Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition.
The demo focuses on a new map style called P2D (Perspective 2D), which allows users to create maps with height and depth using intuitive controls. Players can explore various visual effects and preview walking animations within the editor.
A key feature of this release is the ability to save map data; all creations made in the demo can be carried over to the full version of RPG Maker U2U upon its launch. However, the demo is limited to map editing and does not include full game creation features. As the software is still in development, the current specifications are subject to change.
The demo will be available from October 20 through November 16, 2026. To celebrate the launch, the developers have initiated the “Let’s Make Some P2D Maps!” community event. Participants can share screenshots of their creations in the Steam Community Hub or on X using the hashtag #P2Dmapevent. Selected works may be featured on the official website and social media channels.
