Moss developer Polyarc has shut down

VR specialist Polyarc has announced the closure of its studio. Based in Seattle, the developer is ending its operations after nearly 12 years in the gaming industry.

The studio confirmed the shutdown in a brief post on LinkedIn. Polyarc is best known for developing the Moss franchise, a series that began as VR-exclusive titles before being reimagined for traditional platforms.

The closure follows a period of downsizing. A reverse recruiting tracker used by the studio indicates that almost 30 people have been let go. It remains unclear whether this figure represents the entire staff or includes employees laid off earlier this year; in March 2026, Polyarc underwent significant downsizing due to financing challenges.

In their farewell statement, the studio described the shutdown as the "end of an era." As they wind down active development, the team is officially saying goodbye after over a decade of game development.
