Onimusha, Resident Evil, Pragmata, and Monster Hunter franchises boost Capcom H1 results
Capcom has released its financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2026. The publisher reported widespread growth, including a 67.5% increase in ordinary profit, which reached ¥61.2 billion ($387.2 million).
The Digital Contents segment, which includes game sales, was the primary driver of this growth, with net sales surging 70.8% year-on-year to ¥85.1 billion ($538.4 million). Total unit sales for the period reached 36.86 million, up from 23.85 million during the same period last year.
Key franchise highlights include:
- Resident Evil: Resident Evil Requiem has surpassed 8 million units sold following its February launch. Sales of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 also contributed to ongoing revenue growth.
- Pragmata: The company's newest franchise has sold over 2.7 million units since its April release.
- Onimusha: Onimusha: Way of the Sword has sold 1.7 million units since its September 4 launch, bringing cumulative series sales to 11 million.
- Monster Hunter: Sales of previous titles increased following the announcement of the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion and the confirmation that both titles will be available on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Devil May Cry 5: Total sales reached 14 million units since its 2019 release, which Capcom attributed to its Nintendo Switch 2 rollout and pricing strategies aligned with the Netflix series.
- Street Fighter: Sales reached 32.18 million units, up from 22.85 million in the previous year.
Capcom stated it is continuing efforts to strengthen the coordination between its games and esports activities to increase brand recognition and expand its user base.
