NVIDIA RTX Spark laptops launch October 16, prices start at $2,599
The first laptops powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark chips are arriving next week. Microsoft has confirmed that shipping for the Surface Laptop Ultra will begin on October 16. Preorders are already open, with entry-level pricing set at $2,599.
The base Surface Laptop Ultra configuration features an 18-core RTX Spark processor with a 5,120-core "Blackwell" GPU and 24GB of unified memory. The hardware package also includes a 15-inch mini-LED display, a haptic trackpad, and three USB-C ports.
Notably, Microsoft is positioning its entry point lower than the upcoming HP systems. Earlier reports indicated that HP OmniBook X 14 and OmniBook Ultra 16 models would start at $2,999, with high-end configurations reaching up to $4,999.
Both manufacturers appear to be using a tiered approach for their initial lineups. While the base models use the reduced 18-core chip, the full RTX Spark N1X configurations offer significantly more power, featuring a 20-core "Grace" CPU, a 6,144-core Blackwell GPU, and up to 128GB of unified memory.
All configurations are currently available for preorder. Review embargoes are expected to lift on the same day the units begin shipping to customers.
