Microsoft says hundreds of games will support RTX Spark at launch, Call of Duty support arrives 2027
During a recent Microsoft event, the focus was primarily on AI, but the company also addressed gaming compatibility for the upcoming RTX Spark laptops. Microsoft stated that hundreds of PC games, ranging from AAA titles to indie releases, will be supported upon the platform's launch.
Performance Demo and Supported Titles
Several titles were showcased as already running on the platform, including Cyberpunk 2077, Fortnite, Minecraft, Alan Wake II, Valorant, and World of Warcraft. A notable demonstration featured Gears of War: E-Day running at 60 FPS on Ultra settings on an RTX Spark laptop. However, Microsoft did not disclose the specific resolution or confirm if upscaling or frame generation was active, making a direct performance comparison with existing GeForce laptops impossible at this stage.
Compatibility Challenges and Call of Duty
Not all major franchises will be ready for day one. Microsoft confirmed that Call of Duty support for RTX Spark is expected to arrive in 2027, though no specific reason for this delay was provided.
The technical hurdle lies in the platform's unique architecture: RTX Spark combines Arm-based CPUs with NVIDIA Blackwell graphics and Windows 11 on Arm. Ensuring seamless game compatibility within this specific hardware and software ecosystem remains a critical factor for the platform's adoption.
