Nvidia is bringing the RTX 3060 12 GB back in June while the RTX 5050 9 GB is put on hold

TechPowerUp and other market watchers report that Nvidia is preparing a June 2026 return for the GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB. At the same time, the company is said to have paused the RTX 5050 9 GB so the two cards do not compete in the same price range.

Why bring Ampere back?

The explanation is largely economic. The RTX 3060 is based on Samsung 8N manufacturing and remains easier to position as a low-cost product, while a newer low-end Blackwell card might create awkward margins.

If the report is accurate, Nvidia is choosing a short-term market solution over a cleaner generational lineup.
