Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar Firmware 1.1.10 Update
Nvidia has released firmware version 1.1.10 for G-Sync Pulsar monitors, claiming significant improvements in motion clarity, brightness, and latency. The update targets 1440p 360Hz Pulsar-ready displays, delivering sub-1ms MPRT response times in specific configurations.
According to the changelog, the update brings the sharpness of 60Hz ULMB2 to the monitors' 240Hz and 360Hz modes while retaining their full 480nits of brightness. Nvidia states that moving picture response time (MPRT) has improved by up to 33% in 240Hz mode, dropping from 2.05ms to 1.37ms. In certain configurations, such as running at 240Hz with a ULMB2 pulse width of 50, the response time reaches 0.97ms, which the company equates to the motion clarity of a 1,000Hz display.
The firmware also enhances moving image sharpness for 240Hz and 360Hz refresh rates with ULMB2 and Pulsar, potentially aiding target detection in fast-paced titles. Additionally, Nvidia reports improved reliability for Pulsar in visually chaotic games, where the technology previously disabled itself to prevent artifacts.
However, the update does not resolve the 320fps bug that caused high input lag, though connecting a secondary monitor appears to mitigate the issue. The team is also working on reducing input lag for 60Hz ULMB2 on DisplayPort and HDMI. Compatible models include the "Acer" Predator XB273U F5, AOC Agon Pro AG276QSG2, Asus ROG Strix Pulsar XG27AQNGV, and MSI MPG 272QRF X36.
