NS Ivy on his motivation at Champions: "I just want that trophy"
Nongshim RedForce player Park "Ivy" Sung-hyeon opened up about his team's improved synergy and his personal drive following their qualification for the VALORANT Champions 2026 playoffs. After securing a victory over Karmine Corp on October 3, he emphasized that building mutual trust made their advancement even more meaningful.
Reflecting on his first Champions appearance, Ivy noted that the team had to address significant teamwork issues early in the tournament. He highlighted that establishing a foundation of faith in one another was the key factor that allowed the squad to overcome their initial struggles and secure a playoff spot.
When asked about the motivation behind his consistent individual performances, Ivy pointed to a singular goal: winning the championship. "I think it falls on the hunger for the win. I want to win. I have the thirst, and I just want that trophy, and it motivates me day by day, match by day," he explained.
Nongshim RedForce began their Group D campaign with a 0:2 loss to NRG before bouncing back with a 2:0 victory over XLG Esports and a 2:1 win against Karmine Corp. The VALORANT Champions event is currently taking place in Shanghai, running until October 18, with a total prize pool of $2,250,000.
