Microsoft has published its weekly lineup for Xbox platforms, detailing 25 new titles arriving between September 7 and 11, 2026. The week kicks off with a strong showing of horror and tactical titles. On September 8, Halloween: The Game arrives, offering an asymmetrical horror sandbox experience set in 1978. Players can take on the role of Michael Myers, utilizing stealth and shadows to stalk residents, or play as a Hero of Haddonfield, calling authorities and fighting back against the relentless threat. Also launching on September 8 is Mewgenics, a roguelike tactics game from the creators of The Binding of Isaac. In this title, players build a cat army through tactical breeding and navigate deep, turn-based adventures by drafting abilities and manipulating genetics across generations.
Strategy and simulation fans have several options this week. Bus Simulator 27 releases on September 8, featuring the most comprehensive bus fleet in the series' history with over 45 officially licensed vehicles from manufacturers like Solaris, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo. For the first time in the series, players can also drive coach buses for long-distance journeys. On September 10, Train Sim World 7: Deluxe Edition arrives, introducing three iconic routes including the Airedale & Wharfedale Network and the Bahnstrecke Nürnberg – Würzburg, featuring various locomotives such as the Northern BR Class 331 and DB BR 440.
The action and adventure sector sees the release of SPRAWL Zero on September 8. This first-person shooter draws inspiration from 2000s console FPS games, casting players as FIVE, a cybernetically enhanced super soldier tasked with eliminating SILAS, the leader of the techno-religious group IMAGO-DEI. On September 9, Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster offers an action Metroidvania experience where players navigate a world of magic and swords, using a Heart-Eater sword to discover an epic outcome in a society seeking to eradicate non-human creatures. Dino Odyssey follows on September 11, a platformer where players control a dinosaur on a dangerous journey to rescue eggs and ensure the survival of their species.
Card and board game enthusiasts can look forward to The Royal Writ, launching on September 10. In this title, players command cards on a battlefield, placing subjects strategically to deal damage. A unique mechanic dictates that any card reaching the enemy base is permanently destroyed, making sacrifice an essential strategy. Also on September 10 is BrokenLore: Don't Lie, a Japanese psychological horror game exploring trauma and isolation through the story of Junko, a hikikomori whose reality begins to unravel. The Alighieri Circle: Dante's Bloodline also arrives on September 10, a first-person psychological thriller focused on atmosphere and exploration, offering a dark, modern interpretation of the Divine Comedy without traditional combat.
Puzzle and casual gamers have a robust selection this week. Hole in Many (September 8) combines the strategy of moving pieces with the excitement of golf. Cats Around Us: Black Cat (September 9) is a hidden object game where players search for a camouflaged black cat within a silent comic. Jewel Match Solitaire X (September 9) offers over 500 levels of solitaire and match-2 gameplay. Dominus Mahjong Arcana (September 11) provides 40 levels of mahjong with progressively increasing difficulty, while Liquid Cats (September 11) is a one-line logic puzzle where players guide a stretchy cat across a grid to fill every empty tile.
Additional releases include Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute (September 8), bringing the original 1997 deck-building board game to Western audiences for the first time. Deconstruction Simulator (September 10) offers a demolition experience where players complete contracts, dismantle structures, and sell recovered materials. Dumb Ways to Build (September 10) is a physics-based co-op game filled with deadly construction jobs and safety violations. Fresh Tracks (September 10) is a skiing action game where players fight to unite the pantheon of Norwyn against the Queen of Terror. Lost in Loss (September 10) is a hidden object adventure where players help citizens remember their true selves. Mole Mine Boom (September 10) is a logic puzzle involving a miner mole and sliding demolition charges. RIN: The Last Child (September 10) is an RPG where players craft spells and confront transformed siblings in boss battles. Warshift 2: Machines of Madness (September 10) mixes strategy, action, and RPG elements, allowing players to build bases and manage troops and mechs. Finally, EA SPORTS NHL 27 (September 11) brings the identity of every NHL team to life with authentic atmospheres across all 32 arenas, featuring real-world goal songs and overhauled crowd dynamics.
Most of these titles are optimized for Xbox Series X|S, with several supporting Xbox Play Anywhere for cross-platform play between console and PC. The Royal Writ and HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush are also available on Xbox Game Pass.
