MSI launches NVIDIA GB300 XpertStation WS300 workstation with 748GB memory for $100,000
MSI has begun shipping its XpertStation WS300, a high-end AI workstation built around the new NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip. Priced at $99,999, the system is available through partners like Newegg and features a massive 748GB of coherent memory split between HBM3e and LPDDR5X.
The workstation follows the NVIDIA DGX Station architecture, combining a 72-core NVIDIA Grace CPU with a Blackwell Ultra GPU via NVLink-C2C. This configuration allows for a unified memory pool of 748GB, which is divided into 252GB of HBM3e on the GPU side and 496GB of LPDDR5X attached to the CPU. The HBM3e provides up to 7.1 TB/s bandwidth, while the system memory reaches 396 GB/s.
Storage capabilities are split across four M.2 slots. Two PCIe 5.0 x4 slots are pre-filled with 2TB NVMe drives configured in RAID 1 for redundancy, while two PCIe 6.0 x4 slots remain available for future expansion. The chassis also includes three PCIe 5.0 expansion slots and is powered by a robust 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium power supply.
Software-wise, the XpertStation WS300 ships with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS preinstalled along with NVIDIA AI Developer Tools, positioning it as a ready-to-use platform for enterprise AI development. It is worth noting that this is not the first workstation based on Blackwell; ASUS has already begun shipping its own GB300-based system a few weeks prior.
The system is currently listed as out of stock on Newegg, despite MSI's announcement on August 28 confirming that shipments have started. The pricing remains at $99,999, making it one of the most expensive consumer-facing workstations available today.
