Japanese PC manufacturer Mouse Computer has officially launched the DAIV CX-A9A60, a compact desktop workstation powered by AMD's top-tier Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. Priced at approximately $5,940 (¥949,800 including tax) in Japan, the system positions itself as a high-end productivity machine rather than a gaming rig.

The core of this build is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which represents the flagship configuration of AMD's Strix Halo architecture. This CPU features 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads, capable of boosting up to 5.1 GHz. Integrated into the package is the Radeon 8060S graphics unit, equipped with 40 RDNA 3.5 Compute Units. A defining characteristic of this platform is its unified memory architecture: the system ships with a massive 128GB of onboard LPDDR5X-8000, which is shared directly between the CPU and the integrated GPU. Mouse Computer allows users to adjust the graphics memory allocation within this pool, though the total capacity remains fixed.

In terms of physical design, the DAIV CX-A9A60 measures 70 × 198 × 200 mm without protrusions, resulting in a chassis volume of roughly 2.8 liters. Including its external power adapter and other components, the dimensions expand slightly to 78.5 × 198 × 205 mm, with a total weight of approximately 1.98 kg. The unit is powered by an external 250W adapter.

Connectivity options are robust for a mini-PC format. The rear panel includes two 40 Gbps USB4 ports capable of driving display output, alongside three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 ports. Video outputs consist of DisplayPort and HDMI interfaces, allowing the system to drive up to four monitors simultaneously. Network capabilities include a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port and Wi-Fi 7 support.

Storage is handled by a 2TB WD_BLACK SN850X PCIe 4.0 SSD installed in one of the two available M.2 2280 slots, leaving room for an additional drive if needed. This configuration places the DAIV CX-A9A60 at a premium price point compared to other Ryzen AI Max+ 395 systems seen in the market.

For context, AMD's own reference Ryzen AI Halo PC launched in the US for $3,999. Similarly, Chinese manufacturer PELADN listed its 128GB YO2 model at around $3,030, while AOOSTAR's NEX395 was priced above $2,800 before introducing cheaper 64GB variants. The Japanese launch price of nearly $6,000 suggests a market strategy focused on enterprise or professional users in Japan who prioritize the specific combination of Strix Halo performance and massive unified memory over cost savings.

It is worth noting that while the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 offers impressive specifications, its integration with the Radeon 8060S graphics makes it less suitable for traditional gaming compared to discrete GPU solutions. The days of using Strix Halo-based systems as primary gaming platforms appear to be over, shifting their role firmly into high-performance content creation and AI workloads.
