Minisforum Launches N5 and MS-S1 AI Devices at IFA 2026

Minisforum has unveiled two new hardware solutions at IFA 2026 in Berlin, focusing on local AI processing. The AI Agent NAS N5 Max-P495 and the AI Mini Workstation MS-S1 Max-P495 both utilize the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor, which integrates a Radeon 8065S GPU. These devices are designed to run AI models locally, offering up to 131 TOPS of AI performance and configurable unified memory of up to 192GB.

The AI Agent NAS N5 Max-P495 serves as an upgrade to the brand’s flagship NAS, which was launched earlier this year with pre-installed OpenClaw. This device can accommodate up to 200TB of local storage, making it suitable for storing large datasets. By pairing this storage with the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495, users can run AI agents like OpenClaw or Hermes Agent directly on their storage solution. Minisforum describes the N5 Max-P495 as a centralized backend for data, models, knowledge, and long-running AI workloads. Running these models locally ensures data privacy and reduces latency, which can help manage AI inference costs, particularly as agentic AI is noted to consume significantly more tokens than standard AI applications.

The MS-S1 Max-P495 is an update to the company’s top-of-the-line mini-PC, which previously featured an AMD Ryzen AI Max 395+ APU. This new model is aimed at professional and creative workflows, including 3D rendering, video editing, and computational fluid dynamics. The device can be configured with up to 192GB of unified memory, with the possibility of allocating up to 160GB as graphics memory. The integrated Radeon 8065S GPU in the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 is also capable of handling 1080p gaming, suggesting that the mini-PC can serve dual purposes for both productivity and entertainment.

Both devices leverage the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor, which delivers up to 131 TOPS of AI performance. The unified memory architecture allows for flexible allocation between system RAM and graphics memory, which is beneficial for AI workloads that require large memory footprints. Minisforum has not yet announced pricing or availability for these two AI devices. However, visitors to IFA 2026, taking place from September 4 to 8, 2026, in Berlin, can see the devices in person.

The introduction of these devices highlights Minisforum’s focus on local AI processing, offering alternatives to cloud-based AI solutions. By providing high-performance hardware for local AI inference, the company targets users who prioritize data privacy and low-latency AI operations. The N5 Max-P495 and MS-S1 Max-P495 represent a step forward in integrating AI capabilities into compact form factors, catering to both professional and enthusiast markets.
