League of Legends Patch 26.19: New Classic Champions, Arena Augments, and Skins
Riot Games has unveiled Patch 26.19 for League of Legends, marking the initial phase of balance adjustments tailored for the professional scene leading up to Worlds 2026. This update aims to shape the tournament meta. Beyond champion tuning, the patch expands the Classic, ARAM: Chaos, and Arena modes, introducing new content and mechanics to these environments.
Champion Balance: Shaping the Worlds Meta
The patch introduces significant buffs to several high-impact champions, including Aphelios, Aatrox, Aurora, Lillia, and Elise. Aphelios sees improvements across all weapons, enhancing his versatility, while Aatrox gains better sustain and cooldown management on Infernal Chains [W] and Umbral Dash [E]. These changes are designed to influence how these picks perform in high-level play.

Conversely, several champions face nerfs to maintain competitive balance. Nasus, Nocturne, Poppy, and Vi will see their effectiveness reduced. Nocturne's Paranoia [R] will have a longer cooldown, and Poppy's Hammer Shock [Q] will deal less damage to minions and monsters. Additionally, adjustments to Lucian and Master Yi aim to stabilize their presence in the current meta.
Mode Updates: Classic and Arena Expansion
The Classic mode is set for a major expansion with the addition of Fizz, Graves, Nami, and Nautilus. Notably, the version of Graves appearing in this mode will be his pre-rework iteration. Players will also have access to a new item, Cloak and Dagger, designed to boost attack speed and critical strike capabilities.

In Arena, Riot has implemented several Augment reworks. While Vengeance Angel and Protein Shake receive buffs, Giant Slayer has been toned down. The mode will also feature special guest mechanics from Ivern, Senna, and Thresh, introducing environmental changes and unique utility like Senna's portals or Thresh's lanterns to the combat arena.
System Changes and Postponements
In a notable development, Riot Games has indefinitely postponed the launch of Team Voice. Originally slated for North America and Oceania in Patch 26.20, the feature requires further development following testing. On the cosmetic front, new skins including Supreme Witch Janna, Supreme Witch Mel, Old Goddess Anivia, and Old God Urgot are scheduled for release on September 23, 2026.
