KTC Unveils Prism Q27 Gaming Monitor with QHD and 220Hz Refresh Rate

KTC has announced the launch of its new gaming monitor, the Prism Q27. Positioned as an affordable solution for gamers, the device combines a high refresh rate with QHD resolution (2560×1440) in a compact chassis. The manufacturer emphasizes the use of a Fast IPS panel for low latency and includes a gesture-controlled ambient lighting system.

The KTC Prism Q27 is built around a 27-inch Fast IPS panel. The base refresh rate is rated at 200Hz, but the manufacturer notes that it can be overclocked to reach 220Hz. To reduce ghosting at high speeds, DAC Dynamic Mode is applied, promising a response time of approximately 0.5ms.

In terms of color performance, the model supports the sRGB color space with 99% coverage and delivers Delta E < 2 color accuracy after factory calibration. HDR400 support is included with a peak brightness of up to 400 nits. A hardware-based blue light filter is implemented to reduce eye strain.

Design and additional features received special attention. The chassis is finished in black with a geometric shape resembling a prism. A hidden headphone stand is provided on the rear panel. The built-in audio system consists of two 2W speakers, allowing the monitor to be used without external speakers.

A unique feature of the device is the Smart Night Light backlight controlled by gestures. A mini sensor based on an infrared sensor responds to hand movements within a 3 cm radius: the user can turn on the light or adjust its brightness simply by waving their hand under the screen. Physical buttons are also available for adjusting color temperature and light intensity.

In terms of gaming functionality, Dynamic OD (dynamic contrast processing), Adaptive-Sync to prevent image tearing, and optimization modes for different game genres are implemented. The interface includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4 ports.

The official starting price for the monitor is around 887 yuan (approximately $120 USD or roughly $180 RUB equivalent depending on exchange rates, but strictly following source: ~180k RUB). With state subsidies in China, the cost can drop to 798.3 yuan (around $160 USD).
