Into The Haunted Land: cooperative horror with curses
The cooperative horror exploration game Into The Haunted Land, developed by Kevin Lai, is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2027. Participating in the Steam Next Fest, the game has also released a free demo that supports save data transfer to the full version.
In Into The Haunted Land, players can team up in groups of up to six to explore cursed ruins. The objective is to collect valuable items and escape while evading monsters and paranormal phenomena. The game features an isometric perspective, focusing on teamwork and tension as players navigate through limited timeframes.

A standout mechanic is the risk associated with looting. Items found within the ruins are not just rewards; picking them up can trigger various curses, such as shrinking the player's character or transforming them into a spider. This adds a layer of strategic tension, forcing teams to decide whether to push further for more loot or retreat immediately to ensure survival.

The game also utilizes dynamic day-night cycles and lighting effects to enhance the atmosphere. Nighttime increases the danger within the ruins, and changing weather conditions further impact the exploration experience. The demo is currently available for free on Steam and supports both solo play and online cooperative modes.
