Dune: Awakening Crafting Details: Bases and Vehicle Customization
Spike Chunsoft has shared new details regarding the crafting mechanics in the open-world survival game Dune: Awakening. The information focuses on two essential aspects of surviving on Arrakis: base construction and vehicle customization.
Survival in Dune: Awakening requires more than just finding resources; it demands advanced infrastructure. Players will be able to build bases equipped with specialized machinery, such as ore refineries, blood purifiers for water production, and fabricators for various items. However, the harsh environment poses a constant threat: sandstorms can destroy structures, making continuous power supply for defensive shields a necessity for survival.
To navigate the vast desert, players can utilize vehicles like sandbikes and ornithopters. The game features a modular customization system for these transports. Beyond core components like frames, engines, and power sources, players can install additional modules, such as boosters and expanded inventory slots, to tailor their vehicles to their needs.
Developed by Funcom, Dune: Awakening offers both a massive multiplayer experience with up to 60 players on official servers and a dedicated single-player mode. The PlayStation 5 version is scheduled for release on October 29, 2026.
