Hunt: Showdown 1896 Update 2.9.1: New Avatars and Premium Challenge
Crytek has rolled out update 2.9.1 for Hunt: Showdown 1896. This patch focuses on expanding player profile customization and introducing a new premium story challenge titled ‘Cursed Kin’.
Profile Customization and Story Content
A major highlight of this update is the addition of new avatars for player profiles. These avatars feature Hunters from several popular DLCs. Players who own the corresponding content will automatically receive the matching avatar. The new selection includes characters such as Sofia (from Death's Herald), The Miko (from Shrine Maiden's Hell), Scaramuccia (from Commedia Della Morte), and others.
Additionally, the new premium story challenge, ‘Cursed Kin’, is now available. Spanning four chapters, the challenge offers various rewards: players can earn the Cousin Jed (Legendary Hunter and Avatar), the The Slasher combat axe skin, the Restless Rotation equipment animation, and the Suffer the Silence charm in the final chapter.
Bug Fixes and Technical Improvements
The patch also addresses several technical issues across all platforms. Developers have fixed an exploit that allowed players to gain infinite Dark Sight and resolved inconsistent sprint controls when using a controller. Other fixes include audio improvements for the Burgess shotgun and fixes for the in-game newsfeed display.
Console players on PlayStation and Xbox will see fixes for broken external promotional links and issues preventing the assignment of quick slots to equipped items. Additionally, a fix has been implemented for slow image loading on PlayStation.
