Round 2 of the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds) Swiss Stage has concluded in Allen, Texas. In a series of high-stakes LCK matchups, Gen.G and Dplus KIA emerged victorious, while T1 and Hanwha Life Esports suffered defeats. The round also saw significant developments in other regions, including major setbacks for LPL teams.

In the highly anticipated clash between the LCK's top seeds, Gen.G secured a decisive victory over Hanwha Life Esports. Canyon delivered a standout performance on Qiyana, successfully countering Kanavi's early-game jungle pressure and shifting the momentum in favor of Gen.G. By securing nearly all major objectives, including Hextech Soul and Baron, Gen.G closed out the game in just 29 minutes.

Dplus KIA pulled off an upset against T1, mirroring their resilience from the previous day. After weathering intense pressure, Dplus KIA executed a massive comeback triggered by Career's perfect ultimate during a critical Elder Dragon teamfight. T1 struggled to capitalize on their composition's poke and range advantages during the final stages of the match.

The LPL region continues to face significant challenges. Following a difficult opening day, AL fell into the 0-2 pool after losing to TES. During that match, 369—substituting for ZUIAN due to visa issues—delivered a dominant performance on Ambessa. Meanwhile, IG and BLG managed to move to the 1-1 pool with victories over TSW and Team Liquid Alienware, respectively.

In the LCS vs. LEC battle for regional pride, LYON defeated Karmine Corp. Although Karmine Corp held an early lane advantage, LYON seized control through superior objective management led by Inspired and effective late-game teamfighting. Elsewhere, Movistar KOI and G2 secured wins for the LEC against minor region opponents.

Following the conclusion of Round 2, Gen.G, Dplus KIA, Movistar KOI, and LYON have moved to 2-0, placing them one win away from the quarterfinals. The 1-1 pool features Hanwha Life Esports, T1, TES, IG, BLG, Karmine Corp, G2, and CFO. Teams facing potential elimination in the 0-2 pool include AL, Team Liquid, LOS, and TSW.
