GeForce RTX 3060 prices surge 14% as comeback hits €400 mark
The long-awaited return of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB has turned into a pricey comeback for German buyers, with prices climbing toward the €400 mark despite the card’s age.
Originally launched in June 2026 by Nvidia and partners on the Ampere architecture (manufactured by Samsung), the RTX 3060 12 GB is now selling for around €379 at major retailers like Asus, up from its re-entry price of €333. That represents a 14% increase over just a few weeks.
In performance terms, the card still holds its ground in specific niches: it offers 12 GB of VRAM, which can be an advantage for memory-hungry titles or high-resolution textures where newer cards like the GeForce RTX 5050 (8 GB) fall short. However, the newer RTX 5050 is faster in raw rasterization and offers modern features like DLSS 3.5, all for a lower starting price of around €300.
For users who strictly need the extra memory capacity and are willing to pay the premium, the RTX 3060 remains relevant. But for most gamers seeking value and future-proofing, the newer generation offers better performance per euro, making the price hike of the legacy card a significant deterrent.
