G2 and MIBR Reach FISSURE Playground 3 Semifinals
G2 and MIBR have secured their spots in the semifinals of FISSURE Playground 3 after winning their respective quarterfinal matches. Both teams closed out their series with 2-0 victories, eliminating FURIA and Alliance from the tournament.
In the first quarterfinal, MIBR defeated Alliance. On Inferno, chosen by Alliance, MIBR took an early 8:4 lead in the first half and maintained control after the side switch, winning the map 13:4. The contest was tighter on Cache, where Alliance trailed only 5:7 at halftime. However, MIBR secured the decisive rounds to close the map 13:9 and the series 2-0.
G2 faced FURIA in the second quarterfinal. The first map, Ancient, required an overtime period after both teams finished the regulation halves with a 12:12 score. G2 emerged from the extra time with a 16:14 victory. On Dust2, G2 dominated the first half with a 9:3 lead and extended their advantage after the switch, winning the map 13:3 to advance.
With their losses, FURIA and Alliance finished the tournament in 5th–6th place. Both teams received $25,000 in prize money and an additional $40,000 club share. In the upcoming semifinals, G2 will face BetBoom, while MIBR will play against Legacy. The winners of these matches will compete for a place in the tournament final.
