The first day of the Rainbow Six Siege group stage at Esports World Cup 2026 concluded with a series of victories in the upper bracket. Eight teams — DarkZero, CAG by VARREL, Team Falcons, Wildcard, FaZe Clan, Virtus.pro, FURIA, and Geekay Esports — secured their spots in the upper bracket semifinals. The losers will continue their campaign in the lower bracket.

In one of the key matchups, FaZe Clan secured a decisive victory over Fnatic on Nighthaven Labs with a score of 7-2. The standout performer was Lucas "soulz1" Schinke, who recorded an impressive 11 kills against only 3 deaths and achieved a perfect KOST of 100%.

The American squad FURIA proved stronger than the Chinese Weibo Gaming. The match on Kafe Dostoyevsky ended with a score of 8-6. Despite the top fragger for the losing side, Gong Woo "Gotti" Park, posting an impressive 16/10, the Brazilian team managed to win the decisive rounds and advance to the next stage.

Other results of the day were also significant: CAG by VARREL dominated AG.AL International, Team Falcons defeated M80, and Virtus.pro and Geekay Esports secured victories in their respective matches. The tournament runs from August 4 to 15 with a prize pool of $2 million.
