Dplus KIA defeated kt Rolster 3-1 in the LCK Playoffs Loser's Round 2, securing a spot in the League of Legends World Championship for the first time since 2024.

The match took place on September 4 at the LCK Arena in Seoul. After losing the first game, Dplus KIA won the next three to close out the series. This victory advances them to Loser's Round 3, where they will face T1.

In the third game, Dplus KIA dominated through strong performances in the mid and bot lanes. Smash Jin Yi recorded a triple kill in a 14-minute fight, while the team eliminated "Karsa" Moon Woo-chan in a mid-lane skirmish at 20 minutes. They took two enemies in a top jungle fight at 21 minutes and secured a decisive victory in the enemy base at 26 minutes.

The fourth game started with an early invade loss and the death of Smash Shin Geom-jae's Miss Fortune. However, Dplus KIA turned the tide with a double kill in the bot lane at 9 minutes. At 12 minutes, ShowMaker Heo Su's Ahri eliminated "Perfect" Lee Seung-min's Gwen during a top gank. They gained an advantage in a top jungle fight at 18 minutes, extending their gold lead to 7,000. After winning an objective fight at 26 minutes, they comfortably secured Baron. At 30 minutes, Dplus KIA pushed all lanes and closed the match with a major teamfight victory in kt's top lane, where Smash Shin Geom-jae recorded another triple kill.
