Dplus KIA Beats T1 with Decisive Elder Dragon Fight
Dplus KIA defeated T1 in Round 2 of the Swiss Stage at the 2026 LoL World Championship (Worlds). Held at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, the match saw DK Beats T1 by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat through a critical Elder Dragon fight despite T1 controlling much of the map.
The match began with early skirmishes over Scuttle Crabs, where Faker on Anivia secured a kill for T1, while Smash on Kalista provided an answer for Dplus KIA. T1 quickly ramped up the pressure on the bot lane, eliminating Lucid on Jarvan IV, securing the first Dragon, and diving ShowMaker on Viktor.
Facing a significant snowball, Dplus KIA fought to stabilize. Siwoo on K'Sante managed a successful 2v1 trade, though the team eventually lost Siwoo during a defense against T1's third Dragon. Leveraging vision control, T1 caught Career on Renata Glasc on their way back to base, allowing them to secure Baron Nashor and maintain a lead.
The momentum shifted when Dplus KIA successfully ambushed Oner on Vi, keeping their hopes alive. Although T1 managed to secure Baron at the cost of Siwoo, the gold lead was narrowed to approximately 2,000. When the Elder Dragon spawned, Dplus KIA made a high-stakes play, rushing the objective and securing an Ace to end the game in a single decisive blow.
