Crash Fixes and Co-op Improvements in Permafrost
The developers of Permafrost have released a new update focused on stability and quality-of-life improvements. The patch addresses several critical crashes, refines the co-op experience, and implements gameplay fixes based on player feedback.
Stability was a primary focus for this update. The developers have resolved several crash scenarios, including issues occurring after skipping the intro video, using consumables, or reloading campfires on the world map. Additionally, a specific crash triggered when joining a session where another player was holding a ranged weapon has been fixed.
Co-op functionality has received a significant quality-of-life boost. The friends-only server list now prioritizes worlds hosted by friends and displays more servers, making it easier for players to find and join their teammates.
Gameplay adjustments aim to prevent progression blockers. Quest items will no longer disappear from the world after being picked up, which should prevent certain quests from getting stuck. Other changes include making fast travel points easier to spot, improving building part placement, and updating building materials. Additionally, the TR-22 RUDI pistol now counts toward the "Craft Any Weapon" task.
Technical updates include updates to DLSS and FSR, as well as fixes for stutters caused by stair building parts. The update also introduces UI improvements, such as progress circles for input hints, and various animation and translation fixes. The developers confirmed that work continues on addressing remaining quest blockers and co-op issues.
