Asus expands ROG Ace lineup with new 540Hz and 720Hz OLED esports monitors

ASUS is pushing the boundaries of esports displays with the announcement of two new 24.5-inch ROG Ace monitors: the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace and the ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace. These models aim to challenge traditional TN panels by combining extreme refresh rates with the superior contrast and color of OLED technology.

The flagship PG259QWS Ace features a 720Hz refresh rate and a 0.02ms response time, utilizing DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 to handle the high bandwidth. The more affordable ROG Strix OLED XG259QWPG Ace scales the refresh rate down to 540Hz and utilizes DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC (Display Stream Compression) to maintain a lower price point.

Panel technology and esports features

Both monitors utilize 24.5-inch 1080p Tandem WOLED panels with a glossy finish, delivering 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage and up to 1700 nits peak HDR brightness. To support competitive play, ASUS has integrated Extreme Low Motion Blur, adaptive refresh rate technologies, and ASUS OLED Care Pro to mitigate burn-in risks. The stands also include built-in measurement scales for precise height and tilt adjustments, alongside a Quick OSD for rapid settings changes.

As reported by KitGuru, the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace has been confirmed as the official display for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, marking the first time an OLED monitor will be used at a Counter-Strike Major. The PG259QWS Ace is expected to retail for around $1,099, while the XG259QWPG Ace is priced at approximately $699.
