Astralis bench HooXi and jabbi
Astralis has officially benched IGL Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and rifler Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard. The move comes just days after HLTV reported that the Danish organization was looking to replace the duo.
The decision comes at a surprising time, as the team secured their first and only LAN title since 2019 at Stake Ranked Episode 4 in Barcelona less than a week ago. jabbi was the second longest-standing member of the roster behind Victor "Staehr" Staehr, having played for the org for nearly three years, while HooXi joined permanently in June 2025.
Rumors suggest Astralis is targeting Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov and former Liquid IGL Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek to fill the vacancies. If cmtry is signed, reports indicate he would transition to a rifler role, leaving Love "phzy" Smidebrant as the primary AWPer. Jonas Gundersen, CEO of Fusion Esports, addressed the changes on X, stating, "Sometimes you need to fully close a chapter in order to create space for something new to grow."
The organization is expected to announce its new roster shortly, with the team scheduled to compete at Stake Pulse Beat III on October 12th.
