AMD reportedly plans another Radeon GPU price increase in November

Radeon users might face higher costs soon. Reports from the Board Channels forum suggest that AMD is preparing another round of price increases for GPUs and GDDR6 memory bundles supplied to board partners in November. This follows price adjustments already implemented in October.

The driver behind these adjustments is the rising cost of manufacturing components. GDDR6 memory prices reportedly increased by approximately 8% to 10% during the third quarter. To offset these rising costs, AMD is passing the burden to its partners through revised pricing for GPU and memory kits. An earlier report indicated that AMD had already increased GDDR6 supply prices on October 1.

Market Trends and Retail Impact

The broader graphics market is seeing significant upward trends. Based on retail data from Hardware Unboxed across 10 countries, global GPU prices have risen by approximately 35% over the last three months. October alone saw an average increase of 10%, excluding the GeForce RTX 5090.

AMD's lineup has already felt the impact in the retail sector. Compared to September, the following price increases were recorded:

It is important to note that retail price hikes do not always mirror AMD's supply-side adjustments directly; factors such as partner inventory and logistics also play a role. However, if the rumored November adjustment occurs, it could place further pricing pressure on the Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards.
