XertioN: MOUZ Deserve More Respect After Strong Start

MOUZ completed the group stage of BLAST Open Fall 2026 without a defeat, advancing directly to the playoffs. xertioN described the performance as one of the most convincing in recent memory, noting that while the first map against Falcons on Nuke was statistically poor, key kills determined the outcome. He emphasized that the team’s overall Counter-Strike was at a high level, a standard they had not reached in a long time.

The captain was particularly pleased with the opportunity to test the squad against a stronger opponent after victories over 9z and Inner Circle. He noted that while Falcons executed an excellent CT side on Nuke, MOUZ outplayed them on Ancient and Inferno, a result the team is proud of.

xertioN also highlighted the development of young players Adrian “xelex” Vincze and Oldřich “PR” Nový, both of whom posted strong statistics in the match against Falcons. He explained that while they still need to refine their understanding of the game to match the core players, their daily work and noticeable progress are evident. He added that strong performances provide a significant confidence boost, making it easy to praise them after matches.

A key factor in MOUZ’s recent success, according to xertioN, is the return of Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás to optimal form. The captain explained that torzsi is heavily influenced by the team atmosphere and performs best when surrounded by people he connects with. He described torzsi as the best teammate he has ever had, citing their strong personal connection and the Hungarian’s passion for the game. xertioN also suggested that his transition to the IGL role may have positively impacted torzsi’s performance, as he understands how to utilize him in the AWP role.

Despite the successful start to the season, xertioN feels MOUZ are not mentioned often enough among the world’s best teams. He expressed confidence that the squad can defeat any team, referencing their victory over Spirit in Malta. He found it strange that other contenders are frequently discussed while MOUZ is often overlooked, especially given their results in BLAST Bounty Summer 2026, the EWC quarterfinals, and the current tournament. He stated that while teams respect MOUZ on the server, the community and analysts should do the same, and the team will continue to prove their status.

MOUZ will face the winner of the Vitality vs. FURIA match in the semifinals. xertioN does not have a clear preference, noting that Vitality has a psychological advantage in some matches but the lineup has changed with jL as a stand-in. He described FURIA as more inconsistent but capable of running over opponents when playing well. He believes both teams are approximately equally strong and that MOUZ is ready to face either opponent, as they must beat everyone to win the tournament. The semifinal match is scheduled for August 5.
