World of Warcraft Hotfixes: Raid Adjustments and Class Balancing
Blizzard Entertainment has released a new batch of hotfixes for World of Warcraft, covering multiple fronts: from the Midnight expansion and various classic versions (Mists of Pandaria Classic, Burning Crusade Classic, WoW Classic Era) to Hardcore mode and PvP mechanics.
The October 13 update focuses heavily on tuning dungeon and raid encounters. Several enemies, including Ascendant Serpent, Living Venom, and Sporeblight Belcher, have seen reductions in health and damage output. Significant adjustments were made to the The Coiled Altar raid on Mythic difficulty, where the number of spawning orbs and mutations has been reduced, and Manifestations of Dread mechanics were refined to improve player visibility and targeting.
Class balancing saw notable shifts. Death Knight (Unholy) received a damage adjustment for Blightfall to fix unintended high damage spikes. Demon Hunter received several buffs to boost PvE performance, specifically targeting abilities like Consume/Devour and The Hunt. Shaman (Enhancement) also received a significant boost to overall throughput, with Lava Lash receiving a major damage increase to address their current seasonal underperformance. Additionally, Rogue (Subtlety) players saw buffs for the Trickster specialization to make it a more viable alternative to Deathstalker.
The PvP landscape also underwent significant changes. Blizzard buffed several tank PvP talents by increasing the duration and frequency of Focused Assault. Other adjustments were applied to Death Knight, Druid, Evoker, and Shaman to expand tactical options. Notably, Evoker (Augmentation) received a damage boost for spells in PvP, while Shaman (Restoration) saw improvements to the effectiveness of Earth Shield.
Beyond combat, the hotfixes address various technical issues, including quest fixes for Midnight and The Shadow Enclave, Delves mechanics, and profession-related bugs involving Profession Knowledge in Zul'jarra.
