Wildcard eliminate NRG from Major contention
Wildcard defeat NRG in the FiReSPORTS LAST CHANCE series to advance to the tournament's final day.
Wildcard have secured a spot in the final day of FiReSPORTS LAST CHANCE after eliminating NRG at the Argentinian LAN. The victory over their North American rivals ends NRG's Major aspirations, while Wildcard move significantly closer to qualification.
The series was a back-and-forth affair that went the distance. Wildcard started strong with a 13-9 win on Nuke, but NRG responded by taking Dust2 13-8 to force a decider. The final map, Cache, saw intense momentum shifts; after trading leads and reaching a 10-10 deadlock, NRG attempted to pull away, but Wildcard managed to force overtime and eventually closed out the map 16-14.
Sebastian "fr3nd" Kuśmierz delivered crucial heroics to keep Wildcard alive in overtime. While Jeorge stood out for NRG with impressive performances, Wildcard's resilience in the final stages proved decisive.
With this win, Wildcard hold a 94.9% chance of qualifying according to HLTV. They will face Barca tomorrow as they look to complete their run and secure a Major spot.
