Voca shocks NRG, SportsBetExpert eliminate Marsborne on Day 5 of StarLadder CQ
The North American Closed Qualifier for StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 has reached its final stage, with only two matches remaining to decide the last spot at the European LAN. On Day 5, Voca managed to shock the favorites NRG Esports, and SportsBetExpert avenged their previous loss by eliminating Marsborne.
Voca defeats NRG in a thrilling series
The day began with the upper bracket final. Voca picked Cache, but NRG Esports built a formidable wall on their CT-side, securing an 11-1 lead before closing out the map 13-1. On Nuke, Voca mounted a solid recovery, establishing a strong CT-side presence to take the map 13-5. The decider was Ancient. Voca flew out of the gates with a 6-0 start, and despite NRG Esports fighting back in the second half, they eventually closed it out 13-8.
