Vivo debuts Y32 5G with 8,000mAh battery and 2TB microSD support

Vivo has unveiled the Y32 5G, an update to its existing 4G model. While most specifications remain identical to the previous version, the shift to 5G connectivity necessitates a change in the core processing unit.

The primary distinction between the two models lies in the SoC. While the 4G variant utilized the Unisoc T7300, the Y32 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. This 2023 entry-level processor offers performance levels comparable to the Unisoc chip but adds essential 5G modem support, making the device ready for modern high-speed networks.

Display and Battery Life

The standout feature remains the massive 8,000mAh battery. Vivo claims this capacity can support up to 37 hours of local video playback. The device supports 44W fast charging and includes reverse charging capabilities, allowing the phone to act as a power bank for other devices. The display is a 6.87-inch LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Storage and Camera Setup

The phone is offered in a single configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users can expand this capacity significantly via a microSD slot that supports cards up to 2TB. The camera system features a 50MP primary sensor on the rear, accompanied by a 2MP auxiliary sensor of limited practical utility, and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Other technical details include dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, and IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Although Vivo has not yet announced the official pricing, the choice of the budget-oriented Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 suggests that the Y32 5G will be positioned as an affordable option in the market.
