VALORANT Patch 13.08: Map Rating System and Corrode Changes
With the launch of Act 6, VALORANT has received patch 13.08. The standout feature is the new Map Rating system, designed to track player performance on individual maps. Additionally, Corrode has undergone significant geometry changes, and the map pool has been updated: Bind and Corrode have returned to Competitive and Deathmatch, replacing Ascent and Split.
The Map Rating system evaluates performance on a specific map using a scale from 0 to 500, assigning a letter grade from C to S. The calculation relies on four metrics: overall win percentage, attack win percentage, defense win percentage, and the Performance Score. Recent matches carry more weight in these calculations than older ones. Players can view their rating, statistics, and most-used agents in the "Career" section, on the agent selection screen, and after a match. This data is visible only to the account owner.

The map Corrode received several structural adjustments. Developers altered the passages from the defender base to points A and B to reduce rotation times and allow defenders to join retakes more quickly. In Mid, the low wall has been made metallic and shifted by 1 meter, reducing the effectiveness of wall bangs and allowing attackers to pass to A Link unnoticed. Additionally, boxes at the end of Lower Mid were moved towards B, a step was added for jumping, and the wall at Lower Mid was raised to prevent players from peeking over it from the new box positions. The Spike plant zone boundaries on A were also changed, making holding the position from A Link less effective.

Regarding agents, Riot Games adjusted the Performance Score (introduced in patch 13.06) to reduce the excessive valuation of individual actions. Damage, adjusted kills, and adjusted deaths now have a greater impact on the final score, with first kills and first deaths in a round being factored in. Specific adjustments were also made for Chamber to more accurately assess his ability usage. Additionally, visual and sound effects for the destruction of Killjoy's Alarmbot will now play when its projectile is destroyed by moving doors.

To combat cheating, Riot Games released ban statistics from August 18 to October 1. During the fifth act, over 171,000 accounts were banned for cheating and over 76,000 for rank manipulation, including boosting and match-fixing. Additionally, more than 74,000 users were banned for toxicity and chat violations. Over 288,000 accounts were penalized for repeated AFK offenses and abuse of game mechanics.
