Groups C/D completed their opening matches, while Groups A/B move into upper and lower series.
July 3 Results
The opening matches for Groups C and D at VALORANT at Esports World Cup 2026 are complete. According to VLR and Liquipedia, MIBR beat Global Esports 2-0, Team Heretics beat All Gamers 2-1, Gentle Mates beat Xi Lai Gaming 2-1, and Nongshim RedForce defeated G2 Esports 2-1.
The biggest result is NS RedForce over G2. This is not a random spike: Nongshim had already shown it could challenge G2, and now it has put the favorite in an uncomfortable position again.
Heretics Advanced, But Not Easily
Team Heretics beat All Gamers 2-1. For the EWC 2025 champion, this is an important win, but the scoreline shows resistance. Invitations and status are no longer enough for easy opening matches.
MIBR's 2-0 over Global Esports was the cleanest result of the day and gives the team a stronger entry into the next group stage step.
July 4 Matches
On July 4, Groups A and B continue with upper and lower matches: 100 Thieves vs BBL Esports, Team Vitality vs NRG, Team RRQ vs EDward Gaming, and Karmine Corp vs Paper Rex. All series are Bo3.
For EDward Gaming and Paper Rex, these are survival checks after opening losses. For BBL and NRG, this is a chance to turn strong starts into group control.

We lean toward 100 Thieves and NRG in the upper matches, but BBL cannot be treated as a fluke after beating EDG. In the lower bracket, EDward Gaming and Paper Rex remain class favorites, yet both already showed vulnerability.
