The first day of VALORANT Champions 2026 on September 24 attracted over 605,800 simultaneous viewers. According to Esports Charts, this figure surpassed the opening day result of last year's championship in Paris.
The match between Paper Rex and Team Liquid drew the largest audience. The series went to three maps, ending in a 2:1 victory for Paper Rex. In another matchup, G2 Esports defeated TYLOO 2:0.
Broadcast scale also increased, with matches airing on more than 280 unique channels compared to 230 last year. The average audience for English-language broadcasts rose by 11.8% compared to the first day of Champions 2025, though Esports Charts notes that two matches are insufficient to assess audience dynamics by language.
VALORANT Champions 2026 is taking place in Shanghai from September 24 to October 18. The championship features 16 teams competing for a $2.25 million prize pool. The group stage concludes on October 4, after which eight teams will move on to the playoffs.
