Ubisoft's Gamescom 2026 Schedule Lists HoMM III Remake: Leak or Mistake?
Ubisoft has sparked speculation regarding a potential Heroes of Might and Magic III remake following a Google search snippet that listed the title under its official Gamescom 2026 schedule.
The confusion stems from a discrepancy between Ubisoft's published program and what was indexed by Google. While the official press release for Gamescom 2026 contains no mention of an upcoming Heroes of Might and Magic III remake, a Google search result still displays the phrase "Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake" linked to Ubisoft's event page. This suggests that Google may have cached an older version of the schedule or is displaying incorrect metadata.
Ubisoft has not officially confirmed any new project with this title. The company's current program for the event lists several slots as "More Info to Come," but none are explicitly connected to a remake of the classic strategy game. Without a direct announcement from Ubisoft, it remains unclear whether this is a genuine leak or simply an indexing error.
It is also possible that the search result is conflating the title with Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. Developed by Unfrozen Games, this new entry entered Early Access in April 2026 and has reportedly sold over one million copies. However, Olden Era is a standalone prologue to the series, not a remake of the third installment.
Furthermore, fans should note that an HD remaster of Heroes of Might and Magic III was already released in 2015 for Windows, Android, and iOS. That version offered higher-resolution graphics, widescreen support, and an updated online multiplayer mode, but it was not a ground-up remake. Until Ubisoft provides further details, the status of a new remake remains unconfirmed.
