The International 2026 Schedule Revealed and LGD Gaming Roster Update

The first matches of The International 2026 will take place on August 13 in Shanghai, China. The opening round of the group stage features eight predetermined best-of-3 series across four simultaneous broadcasts. The first wave begins at 04:00 CEST with 1win facing Nigma Galaxy, BetBoom Team against OG, PARIVISION versus Resilience, and Team Falcons competing with LGD Gaming. The second part starts at 07:00 CEST, featuring matchups between Team Yandex and L1ga Team, Team Spirit versus Xtreme Gaming, Team Liquid against Vici Gaming, and Aurora Gaming taking on GamerLegion. The championship runs from August 13 to 23, with a prize pool exceeding $2.67 million.

A significant roster update has been confirmed for the event. Two-time The International champion Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen will compete for LGD Gaming, taking the second position on the roster.

The urgent need for a replacement arose following the disqualification of Santiago "TaiLung" Aguero. On August 9, LGD Gaming reported issues related to the player's competitive integrity after an internal review and subsequent investigation by the organizers. As a result, TaiLung was barred from participating in The International 2026 and received a lifetime ban from PGL tournaments.

Following the disqualification announcement, LGD confirmed that the remaining four players would continue their preparation for the championship. A few hours later, the organization introduced Topson as the team's new mid-laner.
