THUNDER dOWNUNDER forced out of ANZC Locals Spring
THUNDER dOWNUNDER has been forced to withdraw from ANZC Locals Spring 2026. The Australian LAN, scheduled to begin on October 10, will proceed with seven teams following the squad's disqualification.
The roster collapse occurred through several departures: aliStair left for FlyQuest, asap joined BC.Game, and TjP moved to Sashi. With only dexter and Liazz remaining from the original lineup, the team no longer meets the requirements for their registered spot. This loss of the core roster, which held a position in the VRS rankings, rendered the team ineligible.
According to DFRAG Media Group, the organizers, the team violated Rule 3.4.3, which prevents rosters without a Global VRS rank from receiving higher seeding than ranked teams. THUNDER dOWNUNDER applied for an exemption based on extraordinary circumstances, but the request was denied. Due to the proximity of the event, organizers were unable to find a replacement, and the team will instead be issued forfeits for all scheduled matches.
