The Story of NIKKE’s OLD TALES: Rewriting a Tragedy
The OLD TALES storyline in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE is a saga of hope turned into disaster and the subsequent struggle to reclaim a lost legacy. We look back at the century-long journey from the squad's fall to their current resurgence.
OLD TALES were engineered as the second generation of Grimms Models, designed to follow in the footsteps of the Goddess Squad. The roster included Cinderella, Red Shoes, Little Mermaid (later known as Siren), and the duo Hansel and Gretel. Their creator, the researcher Abe, shared a bond with them that transcended science, evolving into a maternal connection.
The Fall of the Squad
The tragedy was triggered by Red Shoes, who believed that true peace could only be achieved by merging humanity and Raptures. By modifying corruption codes, she transformed Cinderella into the Heretic known as Anachiro. This act of 'harmony' shattered the squad, leading to the death of Abe and forcing Cinderella into a state of corruption where she inadvertently attacked those she loved most.

Following the failed eradication of the Queen, Cinderella was left broken and misunderstood. While Oswald helped erase the squad's records to protect them from the Central Government, the members were scattered across the surface, believed to be deceased by the world.
Reclaiming the Narrative
A century later, the pieces of the puzzle are coming back together:
- Siren survived 70 years in isolation, using her abilities to shield humanity from the Queen's gaze.
- Hansel and Gretel found refuge in the GINGERBREAD HOUSE, protected by the Heretic Bernuia.
- Abe, having lost her memories and physical form, became the Nikke Grave, spending decades searching for Cinderella.

In the current main story (Chapter 32 and beyond), Cinderella and Grave are actively reuniting the family. Facilitated by the intervention of Mori, the survivors of OLD TALES are gathering once more. Their mission has shifted from mere survival to a final stand against the Queen, aiming to finally write the happy ending that was stolen from them a hundred years ago.
