TES Comeback Victory Over IG Secures 3rd Seed for Worlds
TES have secured their spot at the League of Legends World Championship as the 3rd seed from the LPL after defeating Invictus Gaming (IG). In the LPL Regional Qualifier held on September 17 in Shanghai, TES completed a comeback to win the series 3:1.
After dropping the first game, TES bounced back in the second map, led by top laner ZuiAn (Qing Zihao) on Olaf. ZuiAn found early success against TheShy (Jiang Shenglu) on Camille, helping TES establish a lead. Although Jachi (Zi Jiaqi) on Ashe managed to bring IG back into the fight during the 18-minute Dragon fight, TES regained control through dominant objective contests to level the series.
The third game saw TES take control of the pace. Krem (Lin Jian) delivered a strong performance on Viktor, securing crucial kills in mid-game skirmishes. Leveraging a Baron buff, TES maintained their momentum to take a 2:1 lead in the series.
In the deciding fourth game, TES showcased superior map control. After securing the Mountain Soul and dominating key objectives including Baron and the Elder Dragon, TES closed out the match with a final siege on the enemy base. This marks the fifth time TES has qualified for Worlds, following their appearances in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025.
IG now moves to the 4th seed decider against the winner of the WE vs. JDG matchup. The remaining teams will compete in the Demacia Cup.
