The road to the PGL Wallachia Season 9 Grand Finals is taking shape in Bucharest. Team Yandex have officially secured their spot in the grand final after defeating LGD Gaming in the upper bracket final. In the lower bracket, Natus Vincere have eliminated Xtreme Gaming to set up a decisive clash against LGD Gaming for a chance to advance.
Team Yandex Secure Grand Final Berth
Team Yandex swept LGD Gaming 2:0 to become the first team to qualify for the Grand Finals. The first map concluded in 43 minutes and 56 seconds with a dominant 36:14 scoreline. The second map lasted 52 minutes and 40 seconds, ending 48:29 in favor of Team Yandex. While Team Yandex await their opponents in the final, LGD Gaming drops to the lower bracket for a second chance at the championship.
The standout performer for Team Yandex was Alimzhan "Chira JUNIOR" Sharafutdinov, who posted an average K/D/A of 9.7/2.4/19.3.
Natus Vincere Advance in Lower Bracket
In the lower bracket semifinals, Natus Vincere secured a 2:0 series victory over Xtreme Gaming. The opening map lasted 41 minutes and 53 seconds, ending 21:11 for NAVI. They maintained their momentum in the second map, winning 42:17 in 42 minutes and 17 seconds. With this win, Xtreme Gaming exit the tournament, while Natus Vincere move on to the lower bracket final.
Earlier in the lower bracket quarterfinals, Natus Vincere defeated Aurora Gaming 2:0, and Xtreme Gaming swept GamerLegion 2:0. Consequently, Aurora Gaming and GamerLegion have been eliminated, finishing in 5th–6th place.
PGL Wallachia Season 9 is currently taking place in Bucharest, Romania, running from September 19 to 27. Sixteen teams are competing for a $1 million prize pool.
