Team Spirit Defeats Team Liquid to Reach Lower Bracket Final at PARI Universe
Team Spirit advanced to the lower bracket final of PARI Universe following a 2:1 victory over Team Liquid. The win keeps their championship hopes alive, while Team Liquid's run at the event has come to an end.
In a high-stakes lower bracket semifinal, Team Spirit took the series 2:1. After dominating the opening map with a 41:18 scoreline in 45:29, Spirit dropped the second game 27:40 in 46:33. However, they bounced back in the decider, securing the final map 40:27 to clinch the series.
Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk stood out for Team Spirit, recording the highest average K/D/A in the series at 8.6/1.9/5.3. This victory follows Spirit's earlier performance earlier in the day, where they eliminated PARIVISION in a 2:1 series to stay in the tournament.
Team Liquid's journey ends here, despite a previous 2:0 sweep of OG that kept them in the lower bracket. Team Spirit will now face the winner of the Team Yandex vs. GamerLegion match in the lower bracket final. The PARI Universe features a $250,000 prize pool.
