Team Liquid and C9 Secure Slots for Worlds 2026
Team Liquid and Cloud9 (C9) have secured their spots at the League of Legends World Championship. Both organizations have officially qualified for Worlds through the North American LCS.
In the second round of the LCS Summer upper bracket on September 21, Team Liquid defeated FlyQuest with a 3-0 sweep in Los Angeles. This victory makes them the second team from the region to guarantee a trip to Worlds. Team Liquid is now set to face C9 in the finals, scheduled for October 5 in Dallas.
This marks Team Liquid's return to the world stage after a two-year absence. For Morgan (Park Ru-han), it is his first Worlds appearance in five years, dating back to 2021. Cloud9 also secured their qualification, their first since 2023, marking a milestone for Thanatos (Park Seung-gyu), who will compete in his first-ever World Championship.
The final seed is expected to go to Lions. Following a 1-3 loss to C9, they moved to the third round of the lower bracket, where they will face the winner of the FlyQuest and Shopify Rebellion matchup to claim the last available slot.
