T1 Dominates FC Online: Champions Cup Victory and Future Ambitions
T1 has solidified its status as the most dominant team of 2026 in FC Online. Following victories at FC Pro Masters and FTB Summer, the squad completed a historic run by clinching the FC Pro Champions Cup title.
The grand final, held on October 18 at the DDP Showroom in Seoul, saw T1 face off against Vietnam's NK. The series went the distance to a decisive seventh set, where T1 secured the championship after a hard-fought battle, ultimately winning the ace decision.
Coach Jung Seong-min attributed the victory to meticulous strategic preparation. He noted that participating in a recent invitational tournament in Vietnam allowed the team to analyze the playstyles of local contenders like NK and TAG, providing a significant advantage during the draft and ban phases. While the team faced a setback by losing the top spot in their group to Gen City, they successfully navigated the high-pressure tournament bracket.
The players highlighted the importance of roster synergy and individual form. Kang Jun-ho («Oppel») stated that the goal was to elevate the performance of Park Ki-hong («Star») alongside the already strong play of Kim Yu-min («Navy») and Choi Ho-seok («Hoseok»). Kim Yu-min added that despite the intense pressure in the final set, the team's mutual trust prevented a collapse.
Having swept the major team events of the year, T1 is already looking toward the next challenge. With their collective goals achieved, the players announced their intention to pivot toward individual competitions in 2027, aiming to prove their dominance in solo play as well.
