Suri: The Seventh Note launches Oct 30 on PS5
After four years in development, Tathvamasi Studios has officially announced that their debut title, Suri: The Seventh Note, will launch on October 30, 2026, for PlayStation 5.
The game's world is heavily inspired by Indian artistic and architectural traditions, blending elements from Rajput forts, Theyyam culture, and Himalayan monasteries into a vibrant fantasy setting. Rather than just providing a background score, music is a core gameplay mechanic in Suri: The Seventh Note.
To achieve a specific organic texture, Glen Martin, the game's director, confirmed that 80% of the soundtrack was recorded using original analogue instruments instead of electronic synthesizers. The musical direction utilizes a hybrid approach, layering traditional Indian percussion over a hip-hop-inspired rhythmic structure to ensure the gameplay remains engaging and responsive.
A critical technical detail revealed by the developers is the timing of the rhythm mechanics. To balance player input response with gameplay momentum, the developers settled on a 480-millisecond interval between the main beats. This specific window is designed to accommodate human reaction time while maintaining the game's rhythmic clarity.
Two editions of the game will be available for purchase:
- Standard Edition — includes the base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition — includes the base game, an exclusive Chandini skin, additional DLC, and 3-day early access to the full game.
Players with a PlayStation Plus membership can receive a 20% discount on pre-orders for both editions. The project was developed in collaboration with the PlayStation India Hero Project.
