Inside Super Family Restaurant: A Preview of the New Nintendo Museum Venue
Nintendo held a media preview for the upcoming Super Family Restaurant, a new dining facility located within the Nintendo Museum in Uji, Kyoto. The event showcased the venue's interior design and a menu inspired by the company's iconic gaming history.
Located on the second floor of the museum's second exhibition building, the restaurant is designed to evoke the feeling of shared gaming experiences. The decor and tableware feature subtle nods to gaming heritage; for instance, large platters are adorned with the N64 logo, while individual plates feature controller motifs inspired by the original hardware's four ports.

The menu offers a variety of options tailored for different dining styles:

- Shared Platters: The "Paku Paku Island" (4900 ¥) is a large shared menu designed for 3–4 people.
- Main Courses: Red and green pasta (2600 ¥), "Samyaku" omurice (1600 ¥), black cutlet curry, and various pasta and rice dishes.
- Kids' Menu: Special sets including a kids' plate with a drink (1200 ¥) and kids' curry.
- Desserts and Drinks: Large portions of shaved ice (2000 ¥), chocolate banana cake, and various themed shakes and drinks.

The restaurant is expected to operate on a reservation-only basis on the day of visit. Access is restricted to visitors who have already secured tickets for the Nintendo Museum. While a full opening is planned for autumn 2026, a "soft opening" (test operation) for a limited number of visitors is scheduled to begin this November. Specific dates and participation details for the soft opening have not been disclosed.

The Nintendo Museum itself, which opened in October 2024 at the former Uji Ogura Plant, explores the history of entertainment, from traditional Hanafuda cards to modern consoles like the Nintendo Switch.
